Goodbye Alps!

At 7:30 in the morning our aircraft lifted from Venice Airport and headed for Frankfurt, where we would catch a connecting flight to Stockholm's Arlanda Airport.  Here you see the plains of northern Italy where they butt up against the Dolomites, the mountains we'd been recently swishing down on our skis.
It was good to be headed home. There were always certain tensions on this trip, giving a slight edge to all the usual lovliness of a week in the mountains. Knowing we were just a province away from coronavirus was one of those tensions, and growing personal tension between two of my friends didn't help.  Lufthansa cancelling our flight home and making us wait several hours before suggesting a new flight didn't help either. So although I had really enjoyed the week I was glad to be headed for home!
