Fungi

My greengage tree was never very productive.  The few fruits it produced were taken by the birds before I ever got to them.  Then, a couple of years ago, the tree was toppled by high winds.  We have never removed the tree, leaving it as a "feature" of the garden.  Now these interesting fungi are growing on the trunk.  They are quite small and the lovely coloured patterns are barely noticeable to the naked eye.

We managed to get out for our daily walk this evening.  There were just a few dog-walkers in the park, but we still had to take occasional avoiding action to maintain our social distancing. Tonight the Prime Minister announced a more severe lock down - not unexpected given the crowds that gathered on beaches and in beauty spots over the weekend. I may have to blip these fungi again in the coming weeks as I run short of new subjects!
