Lockdown Day 3 - Emergency Mower

I am very grateful that I have a gardener who visits me every couple of weeks for a couple of hours and helps keep on top of my garden tasks. Unfortunately he’s not coming at all right now. He made that decision even before we were locked down, even though I believe he’d still be permitted to come. Best he makes the decision he’s most comfortable with.

So now I’m glad I bought this little cordless battery powered mower a couple of years ago. Out it came today. It works perfectly except for one thing. For some reason the rear wheels keep falling off. That never happened before. I may have to ask my very handy neighbour if he’d take a look at it! Is THAT allowed??

It was another warm sunny day so I enjoyed my short mowing chore, though I didn’t bother with the front - I got fed up of putting the wheels back on. I also did some more tidying in my garage as well as a short Zoom meeting. They’re starting to feel normal now and I didn’t even know what Zoom was a month ago!

My new routine seems to be to get up early, watch Breakfast News, get things done during the day, chat with a few friends and then watch the afternoon COVID-19 special on BBC which includes the daily Government briefing. On these warm days I’m watching them on my iPad while enjoying a spot of sunbathing! I am so very grateful that I have a garden. And that the sun is shining.

For a couple of prettier pictures, if you’d like that instead of a mower picture, see my Extras. I went down to the lake again this evening. I’m not sure how much I’ll be getting down there for the next few weeks. It seems that even the allowable daily walk has become controversial!
