The world to myself

Apart from Flora of course.

I'm not sleeping well and this morning I was awake and pottering about really far too early. It really was a most glorious sunrise so I decided to take my daily walk when I could enjoy the sky. Despite the chat of a heatwave it was quite chilly, utterly still and of course quiet apart from birdsong. I walked over a couple of fields before returning home. This was the view east along the Ochils.

It's Cameraman's birthday. I'll make a cake later and we will have a virtual birthday party with the family via videoconference. Everyone else will have to supply their own cake. He's been given some Highland Park, some Lagavulin and several books.

Yesterday's virtual Grand National was good fun but my horse wasn't placed. To be honest it seemed a lot healthier not to race and jump horses to their death for entertainment so maybe this could be one of the permanent changes brought about by Covid-19.

Wishing everyone a pleasant day to enjoy the sunshine.
