Through The Arched Window

All four of us went for a walk together today which is a very rare occurrence unless we are on holiday. Today, apart from watching the News, did feel a bit like a bank holiday; all of us at home, the sun shining and lunch outside in the garden. It was a lovely day. There were lots of butterflies in the garden including a Brimstone - first one this year.

Our walk took us through Goldings, alongside the Lea in Waterford Marsh to Stapleford and up hill onto Waterford Heath, which is far too grand a name for what is actually a former gravel quarry. My blip is of a railway bridge under which we passed back into Waterford Marsh.

I spent a fair bit of the afternoon in the garden so I’m now a little pink. But I also dealt with some emails, offered my services to a couple more voluntary organisations, researched some butterfly-friendly plants, baked a banana loaf & a pear frangipane tart and had lots of communications with several members of the family and friends. So quite productive.

Just heard Boris has been admitted to hospital after 10 days with the virus. It seems to take longer than 7 days for some people to recover and not just those hospitalised. Odette had it for 3 weeks she says and one of Tony’s friends dads, Gary, was in bed for 2 weeks. They have recovered though which is the main thing and others we know have just had it mildly.
