Family and Food

The important things in life.   Son Eric  volunteered to go to the grocery store for us so we went to their place to pick it up so we could stand far away and at least see them all.  the boys are so lucky to have this basketball court in their front yard (extra) … and they  talked about how lucky they were to have someone to “play with” as all their friends who are “only children”are REALLY bored.      and there is a “virtual" romance progressing too. :-)…

Then later we went to sing Happy birthday (have we all been singing that a lot lately with soap on our hands??)    to dil Kirsten who actually had the day at home and had fun…we brought them tiramisu that the girls LOVE from our local restaurant, , the masks, and birthday gift. ( fingerless gloves.. knit pattern from blipper Mrs. Honeycomb Beach) stood at the other end of their big porch,.. Herb petted a very excited Maple (with gloves on) and they gave us cupcakes they made.  The birthday card is here.

Asked those teenagers about their classes.   Nik said he had to be awake at 9:30 today for class but couldn’t make it out of bed to his computer  (8 ft away) so watched on the phone under the covers.  NO… NO ONE turns on their video!    Tatum said it depends on the teacher …some say they want to SEE the students.   and they can’t use Zoom because of privacy issues.  Still working that out, is the Seattle School district, but making progress.

A very satisfying day!  the larder is full and we got to chat with everyone! (with our masks on!!!!). I like this spring photo with them right in front of the door to their HOMES.

STAY HOME!
