Day 18 - Settling in...

Happy Easter everyone.........it is a very odd Easter indeed. but as Jacinda declared the Easter Bunny an essential worker here in NZ, we know we will have his deliveries to keep us occupied on lockdown day 18.  He must be running late as he hasn't been here yet.....!

There were some mixed successes today with the yet-to-be-named kitty.  Greatest success - her playing freely around the living room with the myriad of toys she has to choose from. Least success [aka biggest failure]: trying to get her back in to the entranceway area where  her bed, food, water and kitty litter are stationed.  She didn't want a bar of it, something I'm afraid may be linked (already!) to some earlier behaviours today from both her and me.  I've promised her that from tomorrow on, she calls the shots about getting up and venturing into the main house area and I will go along with whatever she chooses to do until such a time as she is totally confident.  All good.

In COVID-19 news we had our best day since the escalation began - just 18 new cases, 49 recoveries and no deaths.  Still a long way to go to achieve elimination, but it sure does feel like we're on the right track.
