The accidental finding

Stroud high street in lockdown

After this morning's pub quiz via Zoom, we had another family video chat. Somehow, after that burst of socialising, the time slipped away. I started another hideous housework task, wrote some more cards to post, and headed off to town for some shopping. Let's just say that was tiresome. I did get nearly everything, including gluten free flour, and some jigsaws from a friend's garden, but Steve had to come and pick me up, and then we had to drive the car some more to charge the battery, so we went to the side of town and back, to another supermarket, where there still wasn't any of the cheese we wanted.

Back home, I gave the giant box of cat food to my neighbour, admired my own purchases, and then got on with the horrid housework for several hours. Cooked supper. Ate supper. Did a bit of the jigsaw, and now I am watching Philadelphia.

The good thing is that we now have a functioning overflow freezer, currently half filled with various types of bread. If someone had told me half a year ago that I would pass my days in such piffling pettifoggery, I would have been dumbfounded. This is our new life. The dull weather does not help.

Still, we have another pub quiz tomorrow, this time for family only.
