Where Dinosaurs Roamed the Earth

My husband and I took a little drive to Cherry Run, not far from Lamar, and went hiking for the afternoon. We found the parking lots fuller than usual, and we almost left, but then we decided to go ahead and stay. I guess everybody wants to get out to the woods. As it turns out, it was mostly fishermen, heading to nearby Fishing Creek to toss a line in the water.

We went for a short hike and sat in our chairs and read our books and listened to music. We had brought along our water shoes, but did not end up wading; it was a nice day but not quite warm enough to get the tootsies out. It was nice to know I could have, though, if I had wanted to!

On our way out, we walked back down through the trees, and there is a place where a few of the trees have been knocked over. My husband said as we walked past, "Boy, this looks like a place where dinosaurs roamed the Earth!" And I thought so too: chewing on vegetation, swishing their big tails, knocking down trees!

Here's a song for the spaces where dinosaurs walked: Survivor, with Ever Since the World Began. (And yes, I know I use this one on occasion; yes, it's a favorite!)
