Muted Colours

It has been a very wet day - rain all the time.  A day for indoor photography definitely.  Following the weather forecast from yesterday, I had thought ahead and picked a flag iris from the garden plus some dandelion seed and flower heads (not from the garden).  We decided that today was a good time to make up another batch of marmalade prepared at least two years ago and ready in the freezer for the final stage, so I ended up very short of time to shoot the flag iris and was not as careful as I should have been with the set up.  No dandelion shots either but they are less critical - there will be more dandelions still to come. There are endless shapes and forms with this very close up macro work - subtle shades of colours. I don't like to pick any more from the garden but this one will be even more dried out tomorrow - maybe a different type of charm in its way. An extra showing some petal detail.

We had a fun 'Guess the Macro' evening for camera club with everyone having submitted a few images - macro extract and entire real item.  Some very interesting items had been selected and we had lots of laughs along the way.
