Day Four at Alert Level 3 (37th day in Lockdown)

Still in a lockdown which is only slightly less stringent. The change of level mostly affects a few workers and businesses, and schools possibly. Otherwise everyone is still expected to remain in a small "bubble", and otherwise isolate from others unless undertaking an activity that is approved; such as my daily walk or jog.

Today I worked from home. A number of meetings via Zoom. Dealt with emails. Read and offered editorial input to a paper written by the pharmacy students, who last year audited our use of antipsychotic drugs. They did an excellent job of gathering data, and the paper they have produced is equally good. We hope to get it publishe in the local College Journal.

I also had a supervision session with my registrar. And had a lengthy conversation with one of the psychiatrists about how best to help a very unwell woman, who doesn't want to be helped, as she experiences our treatments as harmful. Never an easy situation. Later in the day, the conversation was rejoined and agreement reached on a middle road, which often enough does engage reluctant patients. We hope ....

This letter box on Williamson Avenue caught my attention. The house is not in quite such disrepair as its letterbox. The safe meeting place promoted by this sign is outside (away from a house fire). In these Covid-19 days, we are encouraged to stay inside as that is our safe place, and having meetings by technology is safer than getting together. S and I had different Zoom meetings over most of the day.
