Solitary

A work day, in the Office on my own.

It was busy enough, but not so hectic as to get irritating. It was a bit of a novelty to be answering the phone again. It rang only 4 times all day, with all the calls coming in 10 minutes - while I was trying to make a coffee.

How do they know?

After dinner I went over to the beach at Kinghorn for a walk - it was low tide and lots of sand. It was very quiet.

The virus is never far away, however. On that beach at that time of day, normally you would see planes going in to land at Edinburgh Airport every 2-3 minutes. Tonight, none.

On the far shore, 4 or 5 cruise ships have been at anchor for weeks. They have skeleton crews on board, with most crew having been flown home.

Just a few yards inland from the beach is the main railway north to Perth, Inverness, Dundee and Aberdeen. A few trains are running, but they are close to empty.

I wonder what the weekend will bring?
