Life through the lens...

By ValC

By eck it’s nithering out there!

Nithering.......a Yorkshire expression used by our BBC weather man this morning, and bye eck he was right.
Certainly Brass. Monkeys.

Again wrapped up well for our morning walk.
A good job as it started hailing before we got home.
The sky has now turned blue and the sun is shining, but it is still freezing cold.
Just need that north east wind to drop.

I’m not sure if this is classed as “ high key” but thought it would do for today’s mono challenge.
Some of you may recognise the plant.
One that has sprung up almost overnight on the moor, and it something I wasn’t happy to see.
The dreaded Japanese Knotweed.
Not sure if I should notify the council. We certainly don’t want it to spread.

A plant I am pleased to see growing almost as fast are our potatoes. (. See extra)
After topping them up twice they have now reached the top of the bag.
Fortunately not damaged by the cold wind.
Unlike the runner beans. I have tried to protect them with newspaper until the weather warms up again.

Several surprise phone calls today, so not much done otherwise.
More baking tomorrow as the tins are empty again.
Nice to briefly see our eldest granddaughter, who brought our weekly supermarket shopping, so the cupboards are stocked up again.

The sunlight on the trees in next door’s garden is just so beautiful tonight. I will take a photo and put it on as another extra.
Unfortunately the weeping ash which has been on so many of my Blips may have to come down as it is dying, and most of it is hollow. Such a shame as I love that tree.
The view from our window just won’t be the same without it.
