The Rollright Stones

We finally managed a visit to the Rollright Stones near Long Compton in the Cotswolds.  Although there were a few cars and people it wasn't difficult to enjoy looking at, and taking photos of, the stones.  There are three main sites, the King's Men stone circle dating back to 2500BC, the Whispering Knights, stones marking a burial chamber dating from 3500BC and The King Stone, a marker of a burial ground dating back to 1500BC.  Further info can be obtained from their web site .

I did take a picture of the full circle but I prefer one of the closer shots which tend to show off more of the age of the stones.  In the extras there is a picture of the 'offerings' people have placed on the Whispering Knights stones and also one of the King Stone (with Ann in the background).

The weather has been lovely and warm all day and it was nice to get out and do something a bit more 'normal' than the usual local walk.
