Yet More Food

My horizon is pretty much limited to the allotment and the flat so yes it’s yet another picture of our dinner. Pea and cauliflower frittata no less, straight from a recipe card (I’ve been filing a pile of them, passes some time!) but with the usual tweaks to give it some oomph. It all disappeared sharpish so I’d rate that a success.
Spent a couple of hours at the allotment this afternoon doing nothing but weeding the berry beds and around the veggie seedlings, being careful not to disturb the coriander and rocket that have self-seeded from last year. Amazingly, a fair number of squash seeds that I sowed straight into the plot have taken. Not that the weather’s good enough to grow any actual squash but if I get a few decent plants I’ll be happy. Found a few slugs which I’m less happy about! The nematodes must have missed them but the neighbour has loads of tadpoles in her tiny pond and we’re hoping for a healthy batch of hungry, slug eating toads to emerge soon. Here’s hopping.
