Sunday morning walk

Gavin and I did an exercise session this morning - he usually dislikes any indoor exercise (he is a marathon runner) so I worked out a program for us which we did together, as it's easier if you have a gym partner. Then after breakfast we went on a long walk, the 9km walk that loops through three different woods. This photo was taken when the path from Great Oaks goes under the A3 to connect up with Esher Common. Today it was quite noticeable how no-one was keeping the required social distance - we came across a large group of ramblers, all huddled up together who I had to ask to step back so we could pass as they had no intention of leaving any space, let alone 2m, for anyone to pass. There were groups of people out together, obviously from two or three families,  picnicking in the woods and enjoying the sunshine together. Groups of cyclists all bunched up together who clearly think exercising with one other person does not apply to them. I think people think lockdown is over and have just given up!

When we got home after some coffee to revive us (!) I tried to do some more levitation/floating photos for my camera group homework, with Gavin's help. I have added the result in the extras.

Last night Thomas did not make his Chinese meal as he got back too late after meeting his friend in the woods for a socially distanced walk and chat. They had not seen each other for a few months so they had plenty to catch up on. Instead he made it today for lunch - .sweet and sour prawns with egg fried rice. It took about 2.5 hours to prepare (!) but it was worth the wait as it was delicious, I was very impressed with his culinary skills.

Another lazy Sunday evening - tonight Luke is watching A Streetcar Named Desire from the National Theatre on YouTube (with Meriel watching at the same time from her home) and I cannot wait to watch Little Fires Everywhere on Amazon Video as I so enjoyed the book.
