Breakfast

I spent a delightful time this morning watching the blue-gray gnatcatcher family feeding it's two little hatchlings.  They worked very hard and brought back their goodies almost every five minutes so it was quite easy to wait for a shot.  

It was a glorious day: sunny, warm, breezy.  I spent much of the afternoon on the porch going through my pictures and even grabbed a little nap.  It is hard to reconcile this beautiful day with the fact that we are coming apart at the seams.  Each day we think that things can't get any worse, but they do - and that has been going on for over three years.  I wonder how far we will fall. It is frightening and so very sad. This election just can't happen fast enough but right now November seems a very long way off.
