And Then There Were Two ...

This morning when I turned on the monitor there were only two chicks left in the bird box. Outdoors I could hear the calls of the other fledglings in our crab apple tree. One of the remaining chicks comes to the opening of the nest box to be fed (Extra).

Through the day I followed the progress of these two. As night fell, I felt worried that I hadn't seen recent visits by the parents. I went to bed wondering if we would be watching abandoned young ones die. I felt dreadful.

The Man reassured me that birds wouldn't do this.


Lockdown Day 76 Good thing today:  Being given hope.
