Mackenzie Country

An exceptional day.
We were up very early and away shortly after 7am, wanting to capture the sun rising over the canal or the nearby Loch Cameron.  And we did....my blip is one of the first photos I took, before sunrise.....there are others in extras - take a look, gives an overview of our day.

After the early photo shoot at Loch Cameron (blip), the extras show the mist on the canals; the swans on Lake Poaka; the mountains & landscape; and what many will recognise the Church of the Good Shepherd at Tekapo bathed in midday sunshine.

We never got back to our house until 9.30 and in need of breakfast......coffee with cooked breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns, tomatoes and mushrooms. Simply delicious before packing up to start the trip home. I say start as there were many photography stops along the way.

Our trip may have been only two days but we certainly packed in lots. So lucky to have this on our doorstep (two and a hours away) and to spend it with my lovely friends.
Its Doug's birthday today, I never got home early enough to take him out for lunch, but we did go out for coffee and cake mid afternoon which was very nice.  I've put a photo of the birthday boy in extra, looks good for a 75 year old I reckon.  Then this evening Lexi Facetimed beautifully singing Happy Birthday Grandad. A special treat.

Thanks so much for enjoying my images yesterday, and hope you like the selection I have done today.  It really is an extraordinary slice of paradise.
