EWE ARE A DEER

Day 89 of personal lockdown - Day 1 of easing lockdown with the Bubble

Hello all,

Yeah I visited my Mum today with Hubby in tow.  We actually went into her house - yes I know it's not meant to start until the weekend but that starts tomorrow so it's only one day early really!!!

We just stayed long enough for a good chat, a coffee and to inspect the new work her wonderful neighbour organised for her during lockdown of a new door to her old coal shed (now just a storage space) and grab rails at both front and back doors.  BRILLIANT.  I could even give her a hug before we left - but didn't give her a peck on the cheek just to be on the safe side.  We washed hands 3 times during our 90 minute visit and cleaned around after us.  BUT I SAW MY MUM IN THE COMFORT OF A CHAIR - YEAAAH.

After that we stopped off at my gorgeous neice's house to leave a birthday card for her son, who will be 7 tomorrow.  Both boys, 7 and 3 are looking fantastic - the 7 year old is so tall and a young man now.

It was so lovely to see them all.  We didn't go in we stayed on the pavement keeping a good distance away.  But again it was really lovely to see them all.

Then headed for home to make sure G was OK on his own.  We drove along the top of the Prom in Morecambe and then through Carnforth and Milnthorpe. calling into the layby by the Dallam Estate to take this photo.  There were about 9 swans (yep a-swimming)  along the river - a spread out and several ducks and ducklings - see extras.

On getting home G said his gums were playing up again. They've been doing this for a week now and he was really bad with it yesterday so we decided to call NHS 111 for guidance.

WHAT A PALAVER.  To be fair - although it took a while to get through NHS 111 were fine.  They gave us a number to ring for Barrow Dental Centre and said they were open now.  So we called the number.  The voice-mail said Press 1 of emergency appointments.  This number then said to call back again but press 2 for reception.  So we did, this line said they were closed between 12.30 and 1.30  (it was now 3.00 pm) and to call a Kendal number.  We called the Kendal number who told us to call the Barrow number!!!  Aaaaarrgggh.  On investigation I think it's the Barrow one that has a problem because the Kendal number is for out of hours - so after 5.30!!!

Anyway I'm in such a good mood after seeing Mum, niece and great-nephews that I'm not letting it phase me.  We will call Kendal tonight and see how long it takes us to get through and if we are lucky enough to get G an emergency appointment.  I was  expecting to be told nothing open till next week but that wasn't so at least!!!

Anyway enough from me - sorry for the rambling and rant.

Do take care and stay safe.  Thank you so much for dropping by and see you all tomorrow.
