Mono Monday: Summer

We had a bit of a late start this morning. After breakfast Roger and I watched the recording of our church’s virtual service, which we didn’t get round to watching yesterday - wondering when we will ever get back to worship in person, and what it will look like when we do. In the meantime they have planned a “drive-in” service in the church car park for July 5th in the evening, in addition to the regular morning virtual service - should be interesting and at least we’ll be able to wave to people and see their faces again! After Laura was back from a doctors appointment ( just a routine annual physical), she and I went for a local walk, driving to nearby Pioneer Park and walking the loop around there, then walking to Johnson Nature preserve and walking that loop twice. My blip was taken in Pioneer Park, where a lady was sitting in the swing by the pond, and I thought it made quite a summery scene and would work well for Mono Monday. The morning had been a little cooler than the last few days, though still humid, but then in the afternoon we had a torrential downpour, clearing up again, in order for us to be able to enjoy dinner outside again, watching the birds - predominantly tufted titmice and cardinals this evening, with the occasional chickadee.
