107th Corona diary entry / The New Normal

Nearly empty beach early this morning.

Even if the sea looks calm, there was lot of power going on underneath the surface. I had a quick swim. Water (26°C)  was warmer than air (22°C) before 8 am. It's not that refreshing anymore.

I had a good nap this afternoon. There's was one household that kept going at least 2:30 am, so sleep was bit so and so before that. I don't mind if they talk softly during the night, even if that's also disrupting my sleep, but one guy was howling (like a wolf) all through the night, they were laughing out so loud and yelling puta puta (=whore). Well everything here is "son of a bitch", but that was about the only word I could make off the whole evening. So clearly the summer has truly arrived. I'm expecting that from now on there's always one house that is making noise through the night. You would not believe how quiet it is during the hot hours, and most of the day.

We've stopped taking the dogs out during the day. The asphalt is just too hot. They can do their business in our own yard and we'll just hose over it. They don't even ask to be taken out. Just sleep nearly all day long.
