Another fungus (I think)

It was our daughter’s and son-in-law’s wedding anniversary today and they came across to our house with the granddaughters for a barbecue lunch.

It was a little chilly and there were a few spots of rain, but we managed outside and the girls had great fun running around in the garden and stripping the raspberries, strawberries and red currants from the bushes. They had a feast and we don’t have many berries left above the height of a six year old.

Mrs madwill made a rhubarb cake using up some of the rhubarb glut - we also donated a kilo or so to our guests to enjoy at home. I may be making jam or chutney later in the week.

The blip photo is of a great little fungus (?) I found this morning on a fence rail alongside the old A1 lay-by. The little caps are about the size of a baked bean!

EDIT - popular opinion seems to suggest they may be pips or stones from some sort of fruit. Not the first time I have been wrong on blip - and almost certainly not the last...

A nice day...some beers chilling in the fridge for later
