Marjorie's ramblings

A long walk

Thank you all for your words of support yesterday. We appreciated them.

Today was a different day altogether. I went for a long walk (11.55  miles) with Jennifer, Maureen and Ann. We did a circular from Humshaugh

Here we are having out coffee break after quite a long slog uphill towards Heavenfield. Maureen may be telling us the latest in the saga of her teeth, but I'm not sure. She has nearly finished her book about the Walking Festival so she may write one about her teeth after that. (People who know her will appreciate this.............and Maureen is a good sport so she'll be fine too!)

The conversation inevitably included hair appointments.

We saw curlew, lapwings and skylarks amongst the other birds. A buzzard mewed overhead. The grasses were wonderful.

It was a varied route including the mysterious Fallowfield Dene after a long time on the top of the ridge, seeing in all directions.

Roll on the next walk next week. It is such a delight to be with friends instead of walking alone.
