Sgwarnog: In the Field

Better

It seems to have been a much better year for Small Tortoiseshell. There were more on show in early spring, I've seen plenty of caterpillars and now the first of summer broods seem to have reasonable numbers.

There were a few decent spells of sunshine today but I still had to dodge the odd shower on my short work day walk. As expected there are plenty of Meadow Brown and Ringlet about with a smattering of Large Skipper, Speckled Wood, Green-veined White, Small White and Comma.
