Fly and Dive

We were on the boat this afternoon watching the Pelicans flying and diving for fish. The fish must have been close to the surface because the Pelicans didn't have to dive in very far. We could see balls of bait fish on the Lowrance Fish Finder. It was a pleasant day, just a little windy out on the Bay. We had a peaceful ride toward the ocean, but we turned around short of entering the ocean waves. I know the photos taken from the boat are not the best especially on a windy day......at least, he did put the boat in neutral so I could take this photo.  :-))

We noticed there were a lot of boats with dive flags in one area; they are harvesting several different kinds of Clams. Hubby talked to one of the men later on the dock; he said the bay bottom is covered with clams. They seem to come back every day with lots of big bags of clams to sell to the distributor in Garibaldi. I will add a couple photos in extra of the dive boats and a boat getting their load taken off the boat by a crane on the dock. There is some concern by locals that the clams will be totally gone with these commercial guys get done. I hope that doesn't happen.

Just a reminder: Be Nice!
