Afternoon Tea

This morning we watched some more NRL rugby, then this afternoon we headed over to visit Jeri and family.

The photo shows some of the treats Jeri whipped up for the occasion - there's buttermilk scones, strawberry chiffon tart and blackberry and lime squares - all very delicious. In addition there were sandwiches, olives, sausage rolls and various other nibbly bits - oh, and red velvet ice cream, which was surprisingly delicious! I'd had red velvet cake in Tesco's cafe a few years ago and it was grim, so I was expecting the worst.

Back to this morning, while we were watching the rugby we heard noise which we thought was drilling from next door. Turned out it wasn't drilling - he had someone in harshly pruning and then shredding the Buddlieas growing in his yard. SHAME ON HIM!!!  He has left a little bit, so we may still see a few butterflies. There had been several bees using it, and there were some bemused looking bees flying around trying to work out where their pollen supply had vanished to.
