Croyde

We had a late start to the morning as Adam cooked a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for everyone.

After breakfast we set off for Croyde - the route we took was on such narrow country lanes it was a bit hair raising at times when another oncoming car passed  - or should I say squeezed past. At one point there was a major hold up as a double decker bus, a large truck and about 5 cars behind them all tried to pass us and another 4 cars - it took some serious negotiations to get around each other, and good thing no one was in a rush as you cannot go anywhere fast on such roads.

Croyde is a lovely coastal village and I think I am correct in saying that it is the premier surfing beach in Devon (photo in extra). Dogs are not allowed on the surfing beach which did not matter as we wanted to walk along the coastal path and not go on to the beach. It was cooler today and quite windy, and I took some family photos along the walk but our hair was blowing everywhere so the photos are not great. We got a take away lunch from a local restaurant there which we ate on a picnic table outside. Then it was a rush back home again as the boys were due to play golf.

Gavin, Luke and Adam went to play golf - Adam was just going to walk the course and not play as his back is so painful - and Tommy and Inca were at home for a while before going to the beach. Terri and Sue arrived for a mini blip meet and we had tea/coffee with some delicious pastel de nata that Terri brought. Xena was very pleased to get lots of attention, and there is a photos of all of them in the extras (Xena looks much bigger here than she really is)

After Terrie and Sue left I took Xena for another walk. Tonight we are going to try a new board game that Inca brought with her and Luke is making jambalaya for supper.
