Drifting Along

A few more flowers emerging in the meadow, predominantly yellow varieties of sunflower, but also purple bee balm and coneflowers. The yellows are so vibrant in the strong sunlight, but purples tend to look washed out. Better wait for cloud to photograph them.

Setting the striking yellow against a darker reed bed beyond, they really stand out in the evening light. Periodically a boat drifts by on the lake in the distance.

I'm a little undecided about this image because the flowers and lake seem a bit unconnected. It perhaps would be better as separate studies, but the story is there, of lazy summer days.
