Light and liche-n

First of all, thanks for being so kind to the cygnet yesterday.  Your lovely comments, hearts and stars were much appreciated..

This morning I met a friend for a walk and coffee.  Before that I went for a wander round the nature reserve but was a good hour too late to see much action.  The swan family were there, sprawled all over the path, which was fun, but swans made their way into my journal yesterday.

So instead you get this.

At the Durngate exit where I sat and waited for someone to get out of bed there is a rather beautiful artist-made wooden arch.  This is a section of it with the 'n' of 'Winchester' inlaid in metal.  Don't you love the lichen and the weathered wood with the light just brushing across it?
