A Day In The Life

Garlic Harvest

A/ “Vulgarity is the garlic in the salad of life.” - Cyril Connolly, an English Literary Critic and Writer

B/ “Garlic, like perfume, must be used with discretion and on the proper occasions.” - Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, an American and Pulitzer Prize Winning Author (for The Yearling)

It’s been nine months since we planted garlic cloves and today was the day we harvested twelve medium to large garlic bulbs. We are thrilled! It was our first attempt and our expectations were quite low. Now we must dry them for 3-4 weeks, then store them for use. Yum, I’ve never tasted “fresh” garlic before.

So...are you more inclined to agree with A or B above? I rather like both quotes, each ring true and have merit, but if I could only choose one, I’m more of an “A” girl!
