Between Showers

Well, that didn't go to plan. After a heavy downpour and before the next, I ventured out to take a few photos.

I had watched a YouTube suggesting you could panorama blend shots in LR, even with different exposures and focusing. So I gave it a try: vertical panoramas with two or three exposures varying the focus and exposure as I panned up from foreground, to distance and then sky. Of all the examples I tested, none proved satisfactory - nice idea though.

In the end I took a single frame and managed to recover enough sky for a half decent image. I put a graduated filter over the sky in LR and brushed out the trees to avoid darkening them, so I could lower the sky exposure and adjust contrast to something resembling reality.

In the end a nice view over the marsh showing how tall the grass has grown.
