Galtonia candicans

Also known as Ornithogalum candicans.  Bought from a roadside stall, and sited in the bed by the pond with the agapanthus and knifophia - it is also of South African origin.  We had a Galtonia (Ornithogalum) princeps, which looks similar, but with greenish coloured bells, last year, but despite the very mild winter it seems to have perished.  We must take more care of this one, with a deep mulch over the resting bulb.
