Royal Border Bridge

After a very slow and damp morning, I eventually popped into town to  get a couple of birthday presents.  As the rain eased off I decided to take a detour and walked home via the river, which resulted in wet feet.  I bumped into a friend who was out walking her dog and we had a very long chat and put the world to rights!
Once home I was told we were not having a picnic today, and that we were going out for lunch.  Unfortunately they had no plan.  We headed south and ended up in Berwick upon Tweed.
Berwick High Street felt very busy as we walked down it towards the river.  We had a lovely lunch at a café on the quay – even though we sat outside, we had to share our details for test and trace. We then headed for a walk along the riverside, by the three bridges.  Unfortunately the rain started and we were all pretty wet by the time we got back to the car.
We came home and had a Chinese takeaway at BB’s request.  This was a long standing request, which stemmed  from his birthday – so only two months late.
Later TT watched a film, which was rather too slow and dark for me.
Yesterday’s bridge crossed the River Tweed at Melrose and is for pedestrians, today’s bridge crosses the same river but at Berwick Upon Tweed and is for trains – The Royal Border Bridge.
