The old days.

Today I drove down to Tayinloan on the Kintyre peninsula and caught the ferry over to the island of Gigha. I'd promised to give some advice to the new Head Gardener at the wonderful garden of Achamore. Although it's very run down at the moment, due to the residents' buyout of the island and the lack of cash, the new lady, though not very knowledgeable, is extremely keen, which I think is more important. The garden is full of the most amazing plants - something new around every corner. Not a plant Blip today, however, but a picture of this wonderful old garden machinery, rusting away in a corner. What makes it a very special pile of machinery, however, is the self-sown echium growing through it!

Quote of the Day:

Rumi - "Beauty surrounds us, but usually we need to be walking in a garden to know it."
