Wild Wednesday ...

... final days of the AOG.

Wow! Was it a busy day at the AOG today!  Too bad this reporter woke up to an ocular migraine that put her under the weather all day.  The type of ocular migraine that I often experience is known as an aura migraine and effects my vision for a short time.  This is usually followed by a 'regular' headache for the rest of the day.

This, however, didn't stop me from attending today's AOG.  There were lots of athletes competing in all sorts of events ... starting with both members of Team Monarch Cat packing their bags and pupating home. That was a surprise to this reporter as I thought they were several days away from this stage in the competition.  Then along came a beautiful Monarch to show these youngsters what they will eventually look like ... God willing.

In the lower right corner is the first athlete to participate in the Paralympics.  You may remember that she is the squirrel with vision problems.  But that doesn't inhibit her ability to compete.

Team Goldfinch was  competing today in the final rounds of the Sunflower Eating event.  They have the gold medal wrapped up ... in my humble opinion.

Now on to the exciting news I hinted at yesterday.  In the lower left of my collage is our dear Kiera.  We were finally able to get her into a spay clinic so that she could be spayed and tested for feline leukemia and FIV.  And I'm happy to report that her tests came back negative!!!!  After she has healed properly from her surgery (she has to wear this cone of shame for 10 days!) we will start the integration into the rest of the house ... and the proper introduction to Cheddar.  We are so excited about having her officially become a member of our family.   Her story is here.
