Night Blooming

2 noteworthy events today!  (or at least out of the routine lately)  We actually took the car out to the Bellevue Botanical Garden, where we’ve never been,  for a most lovely walk in garden and natural forest…. almost like Parker Island,…. it was great to walk on forest trails.  I got worried when I saw lots of cars but there are so many trails, it was easy to stay well distanced.   And a surprise to come upon art pieces…I thought of Andy Goldworthy’s stone cairn  (or egg) sculptures with this one…it’s called Night Blooming and is made of pieces of reclaimed lumber (parts of tamarak and fir planks used to build grain silos in Eastern Washington the first half of the 20th C.)…I guess the light going in looks like shooting stars from the inside….’  Popular with kids, we didn’t go in.   Almost all the kids even had their masks on.     Extra: a forest trail, the suspension bridge over the ravine, and dancing fuchsias from the gorgeous fuchsia garden.

And the 2nd event!   My new iPad arrived last night around dinnertime.  it was good we went out for a walk after dinner or it might (or might not) still be sitting by the front door.    I waited til this afternoon with trepidation to set it up, expecting to run into trouble… But Hark..it was easy as pie to set it up from the phone info and then restore with the  back up from the cloud from July 4.  (the old one died July 5).  My son will be happy to hear this ..he would have been the next call… the too many apps are taking forever to all load, but they keep coming!   And, the pencil arrived at the door a short while ago.   Happy.

This is our last night of our our virtual tour in Rome... the forum and my very favorite building, the Pantheon.   Wraps up tomorrow :-(
