The Ultimate Water Feature

Unfortunately there is no longer any water flowing through this derelict waterwheel. Rather overgrown as well - but it looks substantially intact.

I have blipped the inside of the sluice gate  before - this is just to the right of the stone pillar on the right side of today’s photo. I can’t remember if I knew that the wheel was there behind it - but it was a surprise when I saw it the other day. Went back to blip it today. The wheel has been hidden for years behind a large hedge that ran along the behind the wall in the photo

The workings may have been associated with either a flax mill (now housing) or a sawmill that was used to supply timber to the Bramham Estate.

One for Derelict Sunday - kindly hosted by Marlieske.
