Kentish Maid on River Medway

Impromptu morning which turned out to be very enjoyable. We were thinking of going out for late lunch/early tea down at the Pig and Sty near Ashford.

In the end we went to Waitrose on the other side of town for some of their Peruvian decaf coffee, stuff for friends tomorrow and some ginger and soy sauce which Tesco’s didn’t have. From there we were going to walk a loop down into town and back alongside the river, which is where today’s blip was taken.

As time was pressing we decided to have lunch in town for the first time since lockdown at our favourite cafe - Leah’s. The reason we didn’t go to the Pig and Sty was that we were not confident about going in a pub for lunch - in the end we went in a cafe for lunch. Small start!

When we got home Susan worked hard in the garden while tried to get my refund back from BA. Following advice from Google I got through to customer services after a 30 minute wait listening to their music. Once through the refund was given promptly!

Now I have to get money back from our gym who have taken two months membership out despite me asking first to cancel and later to freeze our membership. There is no phone number to ring only an email address which they’re not answering. I shall be resorting to social media tomorrow.

Meanwhile, as all this was going on I made a batch of tea cakes for tomorrow and packed up and posted Landon’s third birthday present to California. We were going to take it with us, now it’s going by sea - hopefully to arrive there by 15th October.

Another 2lbs of raspberries picked from the allotment and a meal of dwarf beans. The recent rain has sent the runner beans into flower again with masses of red all over the vines.
