Let's go this way

A new routine for Wednesday. With the five year old safely ensconced at school Wednesday is once again a one girl childminding affair. She was delivered to us this morning at 07:00 by her dad who then shot off to work (at his kitchen table). This is the first time the toddler has been here without her big sister and she was a bit wary to start with. But a big bowl of porridge followed by a bath soon saw her right. She is a very easy child to look after. Here we are on a walk round the river inspecting pine cones, late flowering buttercups, grass, twigs and general grime. She was wearing a puddle suit and wellies as you see because today has been damp.

After lunch we popped her in her car seat and took her home. This allowed her a much needed nap. We carried on looking after her for a couple of hours but it was too wet to go for another walk.

Luckily we are still allowed to visit this household. Not so the Glasgow family. We won't be able to do Monday childminding with the toddler's cousin, our grandson, for the next two weeks.

The covid numbers are climbing steadily and I'm feeling nervous.
