A time for everything

Saturday
A gorgeous day today - comfortable temperatures, sunshine and clear blue skies. We hadn’t been out on our bikes yet this week, so we headed back to the Little Miami trail, but to one of the more northernmost segments, starting form Xenia, and continuing beyond Yellow Springs for about 2-3 miles, making a total of 23.5 miles return. There were quite a number of other people out enjoying the beautiful weather, but not to the extent that you were made to feel uncomfortable. I had packed us some sandwiches and some fruit, which we enjoyed sitting on a bench at the side of the trail on the outward leg. The last couple of miles on the return I found a bit of a struggle, as not only was I tired, but there was a slight uphill gradient, plus the wind was against us! At this point, I decided I deserved an ice cream, so we headed north a bit to Young’s Jersey Dairy. It was a very popular place on a sunny holiday weekend afternoon, but they have installed (I assume for Covid reasons) a very well organized Drive-thru system, minimizing contact. Our dinner this evening we enjoyed on the patio once more, steak grilled outside, corn on the cob, mushrooms, and baked sweet potato fries, washed down with some red wine of course!
