Dad’s desk

This is my third attempt at posting. When I pressed the publish button a few minutes ago it took me to the sign in page and everything I’d written was gone!

This is the bookcase I tidied at the beginning of lockdown with lots of good intentions of doing more!  I thought of blipping it then but for some reason didn’t get on with it. It sits on the first landing and holds mainly maps and walk books along with some fairly old regional guide books. I keep it as it was my dad's desk. He made it himself after the war and used it when he first worked from home. The front drops down to form the desk and it still contains mainly things that were his including his three/four years of pencil written war diaries.
(I do have a pile of books and jigsaws and a bag full of stuff to take to the charity shops but when and where I don’t know)

You get it as a blip today as I haven’t done much. Up too early and a good sing with ATN and then putting out washing and bringing it in with the weather!

Good news arrived on Whats App this afternoon. Eda’s results from her mid year blood test for her coeliac TGG levels (no idea) show she has come down from 120 to 5 - normal is 4! ( often still as high as 50 at mid year) Also her stored iron up is up by five times. Very pleasing but we know that she has so much more energy than she had nearly 12 months ago. Should be back to normal by Christmas when she will be tested again as they said it could take a year for her gut to recover, so she may then be able to have oat products.

A good end to an indifferent day!
