A Day In The Life

Happy Labor Day

In the US Labor Day is celebrated on the first Monday of September. It was made a Federal Holiday in 1894 to celebrate American workers. It also marks the end of summer and the beginning of school. 2020 certainly highlighted the contributions of those who worked while most of us sheltered safely at home because of the pandemic: healthcare providers, stockers of shelves, delivery people, postal workers, cashiers, trash guys, snow plowers, line workers, teachers - so many who did their jobs under extraordinary circumstances. They are the ones I am thinking of, and thanking, today • This young bluejay was patiently waiting for his peanut delivery this morning • It’s another beautiful day to be outside. We wanted to get the fire pit going but it’s much too windy. Instead, I put away a few summer items and pulled out some warmer clothing due to the season change. After this blip I am heading to the kitchen to bake zucchini and pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. We’ll each have one and I’ll freeze the rest.
