Rodents rule

By squirk

Hey there

The wind blew the cobwebs away again, this time on the Black Isle at Cromarty. We had a delicious treat of a lunch by the harbour – take away hot macaroni pies and cream doughnuts, washed down with tea from the Thermos. All the while a herring gull watched on in hope.

Thus fuelled, we walked along the trail to the viewpoint on the South Sutor, where we had more Thermos tea while seated on a well-positioned bench watching the house martins (at least 50 of them) catch their lunch. The track was fine – I wouldn't wish to do it after a period of wet weather.

At one point we took a steepish path down to some fishermen's huts to a beach with stone arches and some treasure (see extra).

On the return loop to Cromarty, it was super to see the hay bales, the wheat fields and the oil rigs in the bay.
