Quod oculus meus videt

Along the Waterfront

Visited Barton Marina today.  Somewhere we haven't been before it was mentioned by friends so, with L not riding until tomorrow, we drove across to see what was there.

For an area in open countryside the local council have allowed a leisure and retail development to be built up on the side of the canal marina.  It has been tastefully done and attracts quite a few people, making social distancing difficult even in open areas.  There is also some walking available around the old sand and gravel pits that are common in this part of Staffordshire.

In other news, cases in the Birmingham, Solihull and Sandwell area have increased to a level where additional measures have been brought in.  No meetings, indoors or outdoors of different households starting on Tuesday.  We live in one of the adjacent boroughs and wonder whether the restrictions might spread in weeks to come.  We seem in the grip of a second wave and while it is nowhere near as big as that which caused the national lockdown in March, it still leaves us wondering what the future might bring.
