Vizsla group meeting

This morning we went to Hankley Common to meet up with Xena's breeder and some of her litter siblings. Xena's mum did not come as last week she got a nasty cut when out on a walk in the woods and consequently had stitches, and so she cannot run around just yet in case the stitches are torn apart. The breeder kept one of the litter so that sister came, and then another sister who lives near to us who we see quite regularly - with her half brother from a previous litter. Not sure if you have followed all of that!

All the girl puppies from the litter are so similar, especially her sister who lives with the breeder and who looks exactly the same as Xena - we could only tell them apart by their collars. The mum dog only had two litters and will have no more, but in the future the breeder will breed one litter from Xena's sister when she is older and we could be interested!

Hankley Common is a very interesting 560 hectare nature reserve owned by the MOD and it is described as a nature reserve and a filming location, as so many movies and TV shows have been filmed there, including three James Bond movies (including Skyfall), Dr Who, 1917, Black Widow and The Kings Man. It also was the training site for the Canadian troops during WWII, and they built a replica of a section of the Atlantic Wall which was used to train for techniques to breach the French defenses  for the D day landings.

Here is a photo of the group - the larger dog is Xena's half-brother from the previous litter. The adults were carefully socially distanced until the children slipped into the gaps for the photo! I have added an extra of Xena as she popped up from being hidden in the heather
