Nicky and her Nikon

Green tunnel

I have decided to join that local camera club and have been offered a 'buddy' to explain how things work in the club regarding competitions and other matters, and I was delighted to find out today that my 'buddy' is a highly accomplished and well known photographer who is an ex-President of the Royal Photographic Society. I am not sure about meeting every single Monday, but I am not obliged to attend every week - well it's all on zoom for the moment, so no actual meetings take place.

Xena was very happy to go out with P her dog walker this morning who has now recovered from Covid, yet still has no taste or sense of smell which seems a normal after effect of the virus. He said that his temperature never once went above 37C which is interesting when high temperatures are considered a key sign that one has the infection - he suffered mainly with a very sore throat.

Today we had our book club meeting. We are a group of eight people but two were unable to come which worked perfectly or else we would not have been able to have it, due to the Coronavirus rule of six. We sat outside, socially distanced, enjoying the sunshine. Who knows what will happen for our next meeting with the ever changing rules due to the Coronavirus. And what will happen at Christmas, it will be very sad if grandparents cannot join their families.

Things seems to be getting a little worrying again regarding the infection rate - that famous R number is now between 1.1 and 1.4 (do they actually know what it is?) Many parts of England are back under stricter rules to combat the rising cases in those areas, but when you look at it how strict are those rules? You cannot socialise with different households in your house or garden, yet you can go to a pub?

I spotted this horse and rider when walking with Xena later in the afternoon, they were perfectly placed in the tunnel of green trees.
