Bank statement

Dull but dry today, so carrying on with various garden things. Cleaned up the spuds ready to store and as I had to check them all I thought I might as well count and weight them! Total weight - 80lbs, total number 622, including about 100 very small ones that I'll keep for next year's seed.

Did some more clearing on the bank, taking out native ferns - to use elsewhere and make space for other species - and removing various other nasties such as Rhododendron ponticum and a shrubby hypericum whose name I forget at the moment. I stood across the road to take this picture - our house is at the top.

Just to please Blipper 'Pleach' I made up a limerick about potatoes, rather rapidly, so if you don't like it, Pleach is the one to blame!

Limerick of the Day:

I’m a fan of King Edward potatoes,
So I planted two fairly okay rows.
The result was for mugs,
Fifteen spuds full of slugs,
Not surprising then if my dismay shows!
