Stuff and Nonsense

Belties at Lunt

Only a couple of days of decent weather apparently, so we spent the morning having a walk around Lunt Meadows. The birds were not so cooperative but it was just lovely walking in the sunshine. They always have cattle at Lunt to help manage the vegetation - at the moment there are a couple of groups of Belted Galloways and a small herd of black sheep. The Belties were up near the hide and were very frisky. They kept chasing each other in and out of the water and up and down the bank. I’m not sure if this brown one is a Beltie or something else....?
Whilst we were up near the hide the heron was successful with his fishing attempts, catching a rather large fish which took a while to manoeuvre down his long neck (extra).

The afternoon was spent cutting back perennials, shredding the material for the compost bin and potting up a few seedlings.

This evening I will be watching the new series of the hardest quiz show on TV -  “Only Connect” - it’s one of my favourites.
