Eating in the Time of Covid

How many nods to the virus can you find in this picture?  Masks and barriers and fewer tables, check; lots of distance, no cars in sight, check; and luckily a bright shiny day. What on earth are we going to do out here when it rains? (besides rejoice in the blessing of water falling from the sky...)

We had a monumental adventure today--a drive over the hill for lunch. Around here that means about 45 minutes to the  San Jose area, a blanket term for all the little overlapping towns in the south bay, where the food is more diverse than what we can get locally. It was the farthest we've been from home since you-know-what. How many days has it been anyway? I stopped counting. We had excellent mid-Eastern food on a very pleasant street that had been blocked off for dining. A different clientele today: older folks, couples, definitely an absence of the usual tech workers with their plastic ID cards dangling from lanyards and pocket clips.
